1. About the Spiring Plan & Payment

What is the Spiring  Plan?

The Spiring Plan is an all-in-one home energy solution that combines a premium battery system, professional installation, and participation in our Virtual Power Plant. It is designed to help eligible households lower their electricity bills to $0 for a full year, with additional community rewards.

What does the plan include?

The plan includes:
A high-quality home battery system
Professional installation
Access to Spiring’s smart energy management system (MyAccount)
A monthly grid electricity allowance (kWh) based on your selected Base or Boost plan, used to offset your household’s grid usage
Access to future VPP participation and community energy benefits

When does my monthly coverage start?

Your coverage begins once your battery system has been fully installed, connected to the grid, and your Spiring MyAccount has been activated.

Why choose a Spiring plan instead of just buying a battery?

A Spiring plan goes beyond hardware ownership. It combines a battery system with a monthly grid electricity allowance (kWh) to help offset your household’s electricity usage.

A standalone battery only stores energy — it does not provide structured electricity coverage, system optimisation, or access to future VPP and community energy benefits.

Why do I need to pay a $100 deposit?

The $100 deposit secures your plan price, reserves system allocation, and locks in your installation priority.

Is the deposit refundable?

Yes. The $100 deposit for the Spiring Plan is fully refundable at any time if you decide not to proceed. This deposit allows you to lock in your plan price and secure a limited installation allocation. If your home is found unsuitable during the site assessment, your deposit is also fully refunded.

How do deposits and final payment work?

Here’s deposits and final payment step by step:

1. $100 refundable deposit
You place a $100 deposit to secure your plan, equipment allocation, and installation availability.

2. Installation assessment
Our installation team will contact you to review your home setup and confirm installation feasibility.

3. 10% installation deposit
If everything is confirmed and you’re happy to proceed, you’ll be asked to pay a 10% installation deposit.

4. Installation date confirmed
Once the 10% deposit is received, we will confirm and lock in your installation date.

5. Final 90% payment
The remaining 90% balance is paid after installation is completed and all required checks and documentation are issued.

When do I pay the remaining balance?

The remaining balance is only payable after your site assessment is approved and before installation is scheduled. If your home is found unsuitable, your deposit is fully refunded.

Does the Spiring Plan cover Daily Supply Charges and Demand Charges?

This plan covers usage charges only. Standard Daily Supply Charges and any applicable Demand Charges are not included and will appear on your bill.

How is monthly electricity credit applied to my electricity bill?

  • Each month, your plan includes a set grid energy allowance.
  • If your grid usage stays within this allowance, that portion is fully rebated by Spiring Energy.
  • If your usage exceeds the allowance, Spiring Energy will rebate excess grid usage up to the maximum monthly kWh included in your plan.
  • Any usage beyond this capped amount is billed at standard rates.
  • Unused allowance does not roll over to the next month.
  • Conditions apply.

Example (CORE Plan – 120 kWh/month)

Scenario 1: Within allowance

Plan: CORE (120 kWh/month)

Grid electricity usage: 100 kWh

→ 100 kWh is fully offset

→ Out-of-pocket cost: $0

Scenario 2: Exceeds allowance

Plan: CORE (120 kWh/month)

Grid electricity usage: 150 kWh

→ First 120 kWh covered by your plan

→ Remaining 30 kWh charged by your electricity retailer

If retailer rate = $0.33/kWh:

→ 30 × $0.33 = $9.90 estimated out-of-pocket cost

2. Eligibility & Application

Who can apply?

This program is open to homeowners who meet the following criteria:

1. You are a residential, non-ABN customer located in Australia
2. You own the property or have legal rights to install the system
3. ECO, CORE, and MAX plans require a minimum 5 kW solar PV system, while the ULTRA plan requires a minimum 8 kW system.
4. You have not previously received any government battery rebate for this property. (This does not include solar rebates such as STCs.)
5. The property is not enrolled in another VPP or demand response program
6. No one at the property relies on the system for life-support or critical medical needs

Is this program available in my area?

This program is currently available only in Australia (check our installation coverage here: https://bit.ly/49Tq8qq). We plan to expand to other markets in the future—please stay tuned for updates.
Please note that additional charges may apply for installations in remote or regional areas, depending on transportation requirements and installation complexity at your specific location.
For exact availability and any potential additional costs, please contact our online customer support or email us at contact@spiringenergy.com.

How many plans can each customer purchase?

Only one plan can be applied per property. If a customer owns multiple properties, a separate plan may be applied to each eligible property.
Each customer may purchase up to two Spiring $0 Bills Plans in total.
This limit is due to limited plan availability and to ensure fair access for all households.

Can I participate if I don’t have a solar system?

A compatible solar system is required to join a Spiring plan.
Homes on ECO, CORE, and MAX plans require an existing operational solar PV system of at least 5 kW, while ULTRA requires at least 8 kW, subject to site suitability and system compatibility.

How do I know if my solar photovoltaic (PV) modules are compliant?

3. Installation & Service

When do I pay the remaining balance?

The remaining balance is only payable after your site assessment is approved and before installation is scheduled. If your home is found unsuitable, your deposit is fully refunded.

Does the installation fee cover all locations?

Standard installations within our designated service areas are included in all plans at no extra cost.
For homes located outside our standard installation regions, remote or hard-to-reach areas, additional charges may apply, or installation may be subject to availability and site suitability.
We will always provide a clear quote before confirming installation, ensuring full transparency and no surprises.

4. VPP, Community & Rewards

What is a Virtual Power Plant (VPP)?

Virtual Power Plant (VPP) is a network of home solar and battery systems that are digitally connected and intelligently dispatched to work together.

By coordinating energy generation, storage, and grid support across many households, a VPP operates more efficiently than individual systems and helps support grid stability.

This coordination helps optimise energy use and unlock shared benefits for participating households.

What does “Community Shared Benefits” mean?

As the Spiring community grows, greater scale can unlock stronger system performance and expanded community shared benefits beyond basic bill coverage.

How does community participation generate extra rewards?

A larger VPP fleet improves grid value and operational efficiency, allowing Spiring to generate greater returns that can be shared with participating households.

How do hardware and software work together to maximize benefits?

Spiring custom-optimises battery EMS and BMS software to work seamlessly with our VPP platform, improving real-world performance and dispatch efficiency.

What role does AI play in the VPP?

AI-driven algorithms forecast energy usage, market conditions, and battery behaviour in real time to optimise dispatch decisions and overall system performance.

5. Subscription

What is the Spiring subscription?

It’s a monthly service that powers your energy system and delivers ongoing value:

  • Monthly electricity credit to offset your grid usage
  • Continuous system optimisation
  • Access to future VPP earnings opportunities

When does the subscription start?

Your first year subscription is included at no extra cost (normally $24.99/month). Paid subscription begins in Year 2, with plans starting from $24.99/month, depending on your selected plan and available benefits at the time.

Why is Year 1 free?

Although your Year 1 subscription is free, you still receive your monthly energy coverage and core plan benefits from day one.
We include Year 1 at no extra cost to help customers get started, enjoy immediate savings, and experience how the Spiring system works before paid subscriptions begin in Year 2.

Can I cancel the subscription later?

Yes. You may cancel your subscription at any time.
If your subscription is cancelled, you will stop receiving your Spiring plan benefits, including Base Plan electricity coverage and any related community shared benefits.
Your battery system will remain installed and fully functional for self-consumption and normal home energy use.
